German parents may face trial after refusing mosque field trip

The prosecutor's office in Germany's Itzehoe is reviewing whether or not the parents of a seventh grader may have to appear in court because they failed to pay a truancy fine over a skipped field trip to a mosque.
The 13-year-old student's parents refused to allow their son to join his classmates on the June 14 school trip of this year to a mosque in the northern German town on Rendsburg, prosecutor Peter Müller-Rakow said on Wednesday. The field trip was reportedly part of a geography lesson.

A local education authority subsequently fined the parents a total of 300 euros ($328) for their son's truancy - which is a common practice in parts of Germany.

After the couple appealed the decision, the case was referred to Müller-Rakow who will now decide whether or not the parents stand trial over the case.

'Safety concerns'

The father justified the decision by citing "ideological reasons" in a written letter to the school which was published online by the family's lawyer Alexander Heumann.

The letter emphasized that the parents worried about their child's safety, saying: "For years we have been hearing reports about religiously-motivated violence connected with Islamic people."

The parents do not belong to any religious group and worried that their son could possibly be "indoctrinated" during the trip. The couple said no one can be forced to enter a house of worship.

According to German public broadcaster NDR, the family met the lawyer through the "Pax Europa" association - a movement which is concerned with the so-called "Islamization of Europe."

The school's principal, Renate Fritzsche said that there are no exceptions to Germany's mandatory school law.

"We also have Muslim children with us and Muslim parents also know that there are no exceptions," she told NDR, emphasizing that Muslim children must take part in swimming lessons and sex education.

North African mob attacks police with fire extinguishers in escape from detention centre. 70 migrants flee

Some 70 foreigners without residence permits who were being held in the Sangonera la Verde centre near the southeastern city of Murcia managed to escape on Wednesday evening.

"One of the foreigners first pretended to be ill, and when the ambulance came to take him away, the others rose up in mutiny," a police spokeswoman told AFP.

"More than half of the foreigners who fled have been returned to the centre. Twenty-eight are still missing."

During the revolt, men "grabbed fire extinguishers and various items to throw them," the spokeswoman said, adding that five police officers were slightly injured.

600,000 White South-Brazilians demand their own country

On October 1st, a massive 96% of South Brazilians voted to break away from the rest of Brazil.

South Brazil is largely White, with Portuguese, Italian, German, and other European ancestry. The rest of Brazil is mostly either Black or Mixed.

The vote was organized by “The South Is My Country“, a movement which wants South Brazil to secede from Brazil.

There are various reasons why South Brazilians are so upset.

Firstly, they have to pay high taxes to support the rest of the country.

Secondly, top politicians have been found guilty of corruption.

And thirdly, the government is waging an “assimilation” campaign to get White and non-White Brazilians to mix in the major cities.

We in the south have the conditions to sustain ourselves and generate riches. Today we generate a mountain of riches in taxes and benefits which are exported, and there is no counterpart,” said business manager, José Gonçalves.

While the vote is not legally binding, some say they would prefer to again be part of Portugal, rather than stay part of Brazil.

If you think a White minority means all hope is lost, just look at what is happening in Brazil, and in other places like South Africa.

In minority societies, everyone starts to care more about their identity, and they start to organize.
