Outspoken singer Morrissey has claimed that if more men were gay, there would be no wars.
The
former Smiths front man argued that homosexual men would never kill
other men, and labelled war, armies and nuclear weapons 'heterosexual
hobbies'.
The 53-year-old said heterosexual men 'love' killing other men and added that women do not go to war to kill other women.
The indie icon, who also
described war as the 'most negative aspect of male heterosexuality',
made his claims in an interview with U.S. online magazine Rookie.
He
said: 'If more men were homosexual, there would be no wars, because
homosexual men would never kill other men, whereas heterosexual men love
killing other men. They even get medals for it.
'Women don't go to war to kill other women. Wars and armies and nuclear weapons are essentially heterosexual hobbies.'
Morrissey, a vegetarian and keen animal rights activist, also cited 'refusing
to eat animals' as the 'most political gesture you can make'.

He said modern day society encourages people not to think and people making music now do not want to waste time 'struggling with art'.
Morrissey also said it is a 'big lie' when such performers are branded as global stars and added a band like the Sex Pistols will never be allowed to 'slip through' again.
He said: 'Whether it be Beyoncé or Justin Bieber, we see singers who have absolutely nothing to offer anyone as they walk offstage clutching three Grammys in each hand.'
Morrissey is one of the most acclaimed British musicians of all time, having made his name with The Smiths in the 1980s before going solo in 1987.
