Jewish Childens Commission Minimises Rapes of White Children

A report is being published today by the Rochdale Borough Safeguarding Children Board saying that around 50 children, most of them girls and some as young as ten, were groomed for sex by a gang of men, mainly of Pakistani origin, from 2008 onwards.
The report says that when the girls turned for help from police and social services they were treated as wilful young teenagers "engaging in consensual sexual activity".
One of the victims, who remains anonymous, told Radio 4's Woman's Hour that when she told police about her ordeal "nothing happened, and a week later I was back there and it was happening again."
Richard Scorer, the solicitor representing three of the girls involved, aims to bring legal action against social services, referring to a catalogue of failings by the services that "could and should have dealt with this."
Janet Foulds, former chair of the British Association of Social Workers, described this as a very sad situation, adding that "we should be listening to children."
