Italian bus message praises WWII fascist leader Benito Mussolini

ROME - A photograph of a Rome bus with the display praising fascist leader Benito Mussolini was sparking a public outcry in Italy on Monday.
The image, posted on an Italian blog Sunday, showed a public ATAC bus with the words "Onore al Duce" -- "Honor to Il Duce," as Mussolini was known -- on the electronic display instead of the normal destination.
Authorities from transport company ATAC launched a full investigation and said the "criminal" act would be reported to police once the culprit was identified.
Under Italian law brought in after World War II, it is a punishable offense to "publicly exalt leaders, principles, facts or methods of fascism." The offense is known as an "apology for fascism."
The bus was photographed at a garage in Acilia, on the outskirts of Rome, La Repubblica newspaper reported.
