1475-European Genius, Italian painter, sculptor, architect, and poet Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, commonly known as Michelangelo, was born in the small village of Caprese, near Sansepolcro,
1816-Jews were expelled from Free city of Lubeck Germany
1836-After a 13 day siege by an army of 3,000 Mexican troops, the 187 White Texas volunteers defending the Alamo were defeated and killed and the fort captured. Jim Bowie, Davy Crockett and William Barret Travis were among the dead.
