1941-The RAF launched a heavy raid against Cologne.
1946-Aged 50, Fidél Pálffy, Hungarian National Socialist was hanged for his beliefs.
1970-Ian Smith, Prime Minister of Rhodesia declared Rhodesia a republic, breaking its last links with the British crown and the treacherous British Government.
