"When Pythagoras wrote that "man is the measure of all things",
he did not mean that men were the masters of their fate; he meant
that all things were possible to men who believed in the gods, and
that men were the god's regents on earth. In the words which Plato
attributes to Protagoras: "Man has a share of the divine attributes,
and he was the first of all creatures to know the gods, because he
alone possessed kinship with them, and raised altars and made
images of them." To the Greeks, Bergson's famous thesis that
"the universe is a machine for the making of gods" must have
been almost commonplace." ....................Robert Paine

Since the dawn of human existence the European tribes
have had numerous matriarchal and patriarchal gods. Though the
names have changed the essence remains virtually the same. In
the writings of Tacitus he states: "the chief god of the Germans
(Wotan) is the same as Mercury among the Romans". To the
ancient Greeks Wotan was considered one and the same as
Hermes. It is also becoming more widely believed by many today
from mounting historical findings that both Wotan and the
Egyptian Hermes were one and the same entity. Somewhere in
the Fourth or third century B.C.E. the patriarchal god Wotan
began to emerge to the forefront as the central deity of the
Northern Europeans particularly the Teutons. Wotan replaced
the former Allfather Tyr and the further distant Poseidon who's
realm reached back into Atlantean times. To the Scandinavians
he was known as Odin, to the English, Woden and the Germans,
Wotan. The days of the week were named after the Wotanic
gods of Asgard and still remain so to this day. Sunday (Sun)
Monday (Moon) Tuesday (Tyr) Wednesday (Wotan)
Thursday (Thor) Friday (Frigga) and Saturday (Saturn).
In the beginning of the first chapter of the book "Teutonic
Mythology", by Victor Rydberg Ph.D., copyright 1906, he states:
"Already at the beginning of the Christian era the name Germans
was applied by the Romans and Guals to the many clans of
people whose main habitation was the extensive territory east
of the Rhine, and north of the forest-clad Hercynian Mountains.
That these clans constituted one race was evident to the
Romans, for they all had a striking similarity in type of body;
moreover, a closer acquaintance revealed that their numerous
dialects were all variations of the same parent language, and
finally, they resembled each other in customs, traditions, and
The name 'German' and 'Teutonic' are Aryan tribal
names. The name Teutonic derives from the ancient worship
of that clan of Aryans who aspired to the war god known as "Tyr"
or Teu. Teutonic warriors well into the Viking age were known to
inscribe the Tiwaz rune (symbolic of Tyr) into their battle sword in
his honor and that it would bring them victory and protection. The
Teutons are believed to have been the founders and builders of
Troy. Rydberg also mentions in his Teutonic Mythology book
that "Wotan had been a Trojan chief, and when he appears in
Teutonic Mythology as the chief of the gods, it seemed most
probable that he was identical with the Trojan King Priam, and
that Priam was identical with Hermes-Mercury." Further, the
author of the Younger Edda speaks of the Trojan decent of Odin
and his people, should marry Thor to the most famous of Trojan
woman." Still, this marriage is not invented by the author. The
statement has an older foundation, and taking all circumstances
into consideration, may be traced to Germany, where the
goddess "Sif" (Thors wife) , in the days of widespread
Wotanism, was as well known as Thor.
In today's world, Wotan is not just the god of the Teutons
exclusively but representative of all the European tribes. Wotan is
a God of the blood, and Wotanism remains as vibrant and
essential for our modern society as it has served the Euro folk for
thousands of years. In the ancient Western European civilizations
the many existing tribes were simply one people defind as Aryans
which is the true and accurate biological name of all Euro races
as a species. Those today who identify themselves as Wotansvolk
do so in the knowledge that it is not simply the name of an
organization, club or guild, but in essence, represents an ancestral
path towards an inner ethnic spiritual awakening. It is not enough
however to just preserve an ancestral religion, customs and
culture; from the wisdom of the past, new foundations can be
adapted into the present day world and on into the future!
After almost two thousand years of an authoritarian, alien
religion imposed upon the Western World by force of church and
state, the ethnic European nations worldwide have lost a significant
amount of not only their population but also their former alpha status
and natural survival instincts, and now face the very real prospect
of total extinction as a species in the very near future. Misegenation
is genocide! Racial integration is genocide! Forced integration is
deliberate and malicious genocide! Birth control pills, abortion and
homosexuality all work against our advancement as a species and
does more collectively to deplete our population than any war and
thus greatly lessens our chances for survival to the most extreme
and threatening levels!.

"Within our circle, comrade educates comrade and all should gain
from all. The very nature of the quest states that there is no end in
sight, that there are no limitations. Always conduct oneself in
adherence with our Conquering Spirit, and never forget that we
have great tasks to perform. We are a tribe, clan, community, a
knighthood from which one cannot resign and within which we
remain with body-mind-soul as long as we walk this earth."
...............Peter Helmkamp

It is more important now than ever that we preserve the human life
values that were common practice among our ancestors which are
still known as the "The Nine Noble Virtues" These are: Courage,
Honor, Fidelity, Truth, Disipline, Industriousness, Perseverance, Self
-Reliance, and Hospitality. During the age of the Vikings, our
ancestors had developed and were to follow still yet another basic
code of noble ethics. It was in the ninth century that "The Havamal"
(The words of the High One) as it was to became known, was
compiled as one of the poems in the Codex Regius of the Elder
Edda. The Havamal best expresses the deepest essence and
character of our hardy forebears. The Elder Edda was created in
Iceland by Saemund the Learned, the most precious relic
remaining of ancient Northern literature. In addition there is also the
Heimskringla, or (Sagas of the Kings of Norway) written in the 13th
century by Snor'ri Sturluson, also an Icelander. Going back far
beyond the Viking age we have the profound andsplendid writings
of Hermes, Pythagoras, Apollonious, Druidic teachings and so much
more that add to the vast body of ancestral wisdom that one will find
today in modern Wotanism. As the great poet Alexander Pope said
in one of his poems: "A little learning is a dangerous thing; Drink
deep, or taste not the Pierian spring."
The poetry of our ancient Teutonic ancestors was of two
kinds, Eddaic and Scaldic. Eddaic poetry was older and more
forthright in style. To a great extent it dealt with heroes and gods
of the folk. It was from the Eddas, for example, that Richard
Wagner got the story of the Nibelungs, the theme for so many
opera's. The Eddas preserved the wisdom of the Havamal.
Through the verses of the Havamal one will find a collection of
proverbs and aphoristic advice on right living and sound and ethical
social conduct.
Wotanism as well as Celtic Druidism serve as an open door
to infinite learning and do not hide their knowledge away from the
people, by confining it to secret societies. During the centuries of
the Viking age, honor and acclaim were like rain upon a parched
meadow. It was not enough for men and women to talk about heroic
legend, they were living and creating their own heroic mythology in
their own living age. It was a strong belief at that time that through a
life of unflinching courage and achievement and a glorious death,
that a man will be remembered long after he leaves this world.
There is an ancient Greek passage which states: "He who has won
some new splendor, rides on the air, borne upward on the wings of
his human vigor. In a fierce pride of hope, rejoicing in no desire for
wealth, enjoying for a brief space, the exaltation of glory. Until at
last, he falls to the earth, shattered by the beckoning doom. We are
things of a day. What are we? What are we not? The shadow of a
dream. We are all shadows, but when the shining comes from the
hands of the God, Then the heavenly light falls on men, and life is all
With the same conviction and determination that our
ancestors possessed Wotanism rises out of the mystical soul of its
pagan roots to unify all the Euro-tribes as one Folk. The word Volk
is Teutonic for "Folk", the culture-producing, culture-bearing part of
a race, who place a high value upon ancestry, heritage, knowledge,
spiritual development. To the enlightened initiate under the sun-
wheeled symbol "Eye of Wotan" the whole universe breathes the
very spirit of the Aesir and Vanir gods of Asgard. Our ethnic gods
have that unique ability to reach deep into the individual psyche and
collective conscience of their people and unite them in a very tribal,
spiritual and emotional way. Through Wotanism and Druidism we
arrive at an understanding of the innermost character of the Folk
Soul that opens doors to the true inner temple of manifstation in the
essence of our being, our heritage and the wonderful though
perilous planet upon which we live!

"The hot gold of the sun, Beats down, Stark and cruel, Like an
ancient dread. At the crux, Of mind and space, Intersecting
eternities, Triangulate, Into the widening void, Of the immaculum!
Beyond this temple, Burning sands shimmer and stretch forever,
Fading off, Into brilliant stars, Piercing all darkness, In a silent
crystal sea, Of whispers.

The past does not sleep, It strains and roars, Within the thought,
Absorbing every coil, Of mortal dimension. Enfolded I become,
In the tendrals, Of its pitiless maw! I am the product creation, Of
all known empires. Every modicum. Of myth and entity, And
symbol, Courses through the torrent maelstrom, Of my D.N.A.

Androgenous my soul, I swirl through seed, Egg and womb, To
become, What I am, And yet, I am.... My role to fulfill, In a temple
of flesh, breath, And heartbeat, Until, And then.... Like fallen fruit, I
cease to be.... Straining forward once again.... Towards infinity....
Towards Valhalla!
