On this day January 25th:
1759-Robert Burns, Scotland’s National Poet was born in Alloway, Ayrshire. His birthday is celebrated as Burns Night by Scotsmen all over the world.
1841-Jackie Fisher, British First Sea Lord was born in British Ceylon.
1918-The Ukrainian people declared independence from Bolshevik Russia. The Bolshevik Jews will make the Ukranians pay dearly for their defiance, millions will be starved and murdered in the decades to come.
1919-The League of Nations was founded.
1944-Highly decorated German Night-fighter ace, Major Prinz zu SaynWittgenstein, who claimed 83 victories, was killed aged 27 after his plane was shot down.
1945-Battle of the Bulge ended. The German losses in the battle were critical in several respects: the last of the German reserves were now gone, the Luftwaffe had been shattered and the remaining German forces in the West were being pushed back.
1955-The Soviet Union ended a state of war with Germany.
1957 FBI arrested communist Jews Jack and Myra Sobel, who were charged with spying for the USSR.
1971-Black cannibal Idi Amin seized power in Uganda.
