On this day January 24th:
41-28 year old Roman Emperor Caligula was assassinated by his Praetorian Guards.

76-Hadrian, Roman Emperor whose defensive policies led to the building of Hadrian’s Wall on the border between Scotland and England, was born in Italica, Spain.
1888-Ernst Heinkel, German aircraft designer was born in Grunbach, German Empire.
1891-Walter Model, German field marshal was born in Genthin, Province of Saxony.. He was known as the Wehrmacht's best defensive tactician.
1916-Britain introduced Conscription - the automatic call-up of all those eligible to join the Armed Services thereby forcing Englishmen to kill their European Brothers to further the interests of World Jewry
1932-In Berlin 15 year old Herbert Norkus was the first Hitler Youth member to be killed by communists after they stabbed him seven times.

1991-Eight-man British SAS squad entered Iraq behind enemy lines to destroy Scud missiles. The mission failed but eight SAS troopers managed to kill 200 Iraqi soldiers before being captured or killed.
