Man Charged Over Collymore Twitter 'Attack'

A 21-year-old man has been charged over the alleged racist abuse of former football star Stan Collymore on Twitter.

Joshua Cryer, from the Jesmond area of Newcastle, is accused of a racial public order offence and a further public order offence.
Cryer is set to appear before Newcastle Magistrates on January 23, a Northumbria Police spokesman said.
An investigation was launched by the force after they were informed of an allegation received by Staffordshire Police.
Collymore, 40, who is originally from Cannock, played for a series of top Premier League clubs including Liverpool and Aston Villa.
He now works as a pundit for talkSPORT. He also campaigns against racism and supports the Depression Alliance charity.
